QPS Reporter (1989)

qps reporter 2

QPS Reporter was published in London between 1984 and 1991, the newsletter for Quaker Peace and Service, previously known as the Friends Service Council, and and now as Quaker Peace & Social Witness (QPSW) – one of the central committees of the Britain Yearly Meeting of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers). The change in name from “Service” to “Social Witness” acknowledges that Quaker efforts extend beyond direct service to include advocacy, social change, and witnessing to principles in society.

This edition from Spring 1989 includes articles on solidarity work in Nicaragua, United Nations peacemaking, peace education in Uganda and Bangladesh after the floods.

The Commonweal Collection includes around 50 copies of QPS Reporter published between 1984-1991. Other materials in the Collection about International Development (Uf) can be found on the catalogue here.

A full list of over 1,700 magazines, newsletters, bulletins and journals that are in the Collection can be foundĀ here.
